How to make Spicy Sweet Potato Salad with a Dash of Black Seeds?

The flavors and aroma of this salad will soon make it a firm favorite with both your family and friends.

To make Spicy Sweet Potato Salad with a Dash of Black Seeds you will need the following ingredients:

  • 2 cooked medium-sized sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into bite-sized chunks
  • 1 peeled and diced cooked beetroot
  • 2 tablespoons of virgin olive oil (you can use any seed oil if you so wish)
  • 1 teaspoon black seeds
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 2 large handfuls of mixed salad leaves
  • 1 small handful of rocket or mustard leaves
  • 5 roughly chopped sun-dried tomatoes
  • 1 small cucumber thinly sliced (or 1/3 of a standard English cucumber)
  • 1 diced sweet chili pepper with seeds removed
  • A handful of olives
  • Balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and a small handful of feta cheese to finish off the salad

Method:

  • Separately cook the beetroot and sweet potatoes. Once cooked, peel the vegetables. Cut the sweet potatoes into bite-sized pieces and dice the beetroot into smaller portions.
  • Heat the olive oil in a pan and add black seeds. Once they sizzle, add the sweet potatoes, paprika, lemon juice, and salt to taste. Sauté for a few minutes before taking them off the stove. Allow the sweet potatoes to cool down to room temperature.
  • Toss together the rest of the ingredients (excluding the vinegar, olive oil, and feta cheese) until mixed well. Arrange these ingredients on a large plate.
  • Arrange the cooled sweet potatoes on top, drizzle with balsamic vinegar and olive oil to taste, and sprinkle crumbled feta cheese over the salad. Serve and enjoy.
