How to make Halloumi with a Spicy Black Seed Honey Drizzle?

A great light snack or addition to a charcuterie board.

To make Halloumi with a Spicy Black Seed Honey Drizzle you will need the following ingredients:

  • 100 ml natural honey
  • ½ teaspoon black seeds
  • ½ teaspoon coriander seeds
  • ½ teaspoon chili flakesFreshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 500 g halloumi
  • Zest and juice of one lemon
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil

Method:

  • Crush the black seeds, coriander seeds, and chili flakes in a mortar and pestle. You can also blitz them in your food processor. The consistency should be that of a fine powder.
  • Add the crushed ingredients to the honey and stir through.
  • Set the honey aside for a few hours to infuse. (You can make this the day before).
  • Heat the olive oil in a frying pan.
  • Cut up your halloumi into about eight pieces and fry in the pan for up to five minutes. Your halloumi should have a golden brown color and a crisp texture.
  • Plate your halloumi and add the juice and zest.
  • Drizzle the honey over your halloumi and serve.
